Ambulatory Blood Pressure

Ambulatory Blood Pressure

Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) is one of the most accurate ways to measure hypertension. Hypertension can be a serious condition and one needs proper testing, the type of which ambulatory monitoring provides.

ABPM involves measuring blood pressure (BP) as the patient moves around, living their daily life. It provides monitoring of BP within a 24-hour window, whether the patient is asleep or awake.

It comes in handy for patients who have various concerns such as borderline high blood pressure, blood pressure issues caused by medication, difficulty controlling blood pressure and fainting spells.

ABPM is an easy to use blood pressure measuring device. It involves wearing a small computer device attached to a blood pressure cuff, around your neck or on the belt. It never measures the blood pressure at preset intervals.

It helps ensure accurate results as it measures differences in BP throughout the day. This helps create a comprehensive medication plan.
