RollerSlide for supine transfers
Differences in height can pose a big problem. And sometimes it is difficult to get close enough to ensure smooth transfers for both users and caregivers. The RoMedic RollerSlide is used for supine transfers of inert users between beds and an x-ray or operating tables, shower trolleys, ambulance stretchers or similar. It bridges gaps and moves with the user during the transfer.
The RollerSlide is a padded sliding board with a sliding cover made from ULF (Ultra Low Friction), Handicare’s own sophisticated sliding material. The sliding cover slides round the board during transfer, reducing the friction under the user and thereby facilitating a sliding transfer without unnecessary lifting for the caregivers. RollerSlide also ensures very gentle transfers for users who are injured or very sensitive to pain.
Flexi and light models
RollerSlide is available in three models and several sizes. RollerSlide flexi is a lighter and bendable version of RollerSlide. And RollerSlide light is a light-weight version of RollerSlide flexi.
The RollerSlide flexi can be folded lengthwise along the centreline of the bed or the user and effortlessly adapts to the surface it rests on. This model does not require a flat surface and it is therefore very practical for transfers from ambulance stretchers or other uneven surfaces. In all other respects, RollerSlide flexi is similar to the basic RollerSlide model.
All models of RollerSlide are available in two lengths, one which covers the entire body and one wich covers the trunk. The longer versions are foldable in the middle for easy handling, transportation and storage.
Wider variants for larger and heavier users
RollerSlide, flexi is also available in two wider variants adapted for larger and heavier users weighing up to 300 kg/660 lbs, depending on the distance between the underlying surfaces.
Replaceable sliding cover and disposable covers for maximum hygiene
RollerSlide is very easy to use and to maintain. The replaceable sliding cover can easily be cleaned and disposable covers, which are available as accessories, provide for even further improved hygiene and less laundry.
